My worst negotiation times date back to 2005-2006 when I was working for a small local company that was doing well in foreign markets.
I was then without any business preparation, having been hired after completing my English philology studies.
What was my first negotiation meeting like?
I received instructions from my Director to travel to France to negotiate prices with our supplier.
In my mind, there wasn’t even a moment of thought that something could go wrong.
After arriving at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, I didn’t feel as confident anymore…
My emotions settled when I reached the contractor, where I was beautifully hosted. I tasted delicious French food, assuming in my head that I would present the prices at the meeting and they would be accepted, not thinking of any other possibility.
I didn’t expect what was going to happen then…
